  • You need a PC with Windows XP Operating System. CloudBuddy Personal takes up less than 6 MB of your hard disc space. There are no specific RAM requirements for CloudBuddy Personal. It is good to have .NET Framework Runtime v3.0. In case your system does not have it, CloudBuddy Personal detects it and installs it.

  • First, stay cool. Your files would still be safe with the local PC hence no need to worry. Just go to the Window Services under Control Panel --> Administrative Tools and you should be able to find a service by name 'CloudBuddy Personal' which you need to start. Then come to the Start --> All Programs --> CloudBuddy Personal and click on CloudBuddy Personal, your buddy is UP now.

    What is subscribe or unsubscribe link?

  • Subscribe means to cache the data of the particular bucket on your local system. Caching is necessary in order to show the reports. Unsubscribe means to delete the cache for the particular bucket.

  • Why does it take so long to show the analytics?

  • In order to show you the most recent analytics, we download the logs every time you request to see the analytics. This takes a bit of time.

  • The analytics database is cached in your S3 account. That means you can view the analytics from anywhere, any desktop without waiting too much provided you remember the access and secret keys of the account.

  • You can open the application in different tabs, or even different browsers. Now you can select different buckets and view the analytics at the same time.

  • Http codes are shown only in case of errors, such as file not found. If there are not any codes shown it means there were no errors.

  • Entry Page: First page viewed by a visitor during its visit.
  • Exit Page: Last page viewed by a visitor during its visit.
  • Note: When a visit started at end of month to end at beginning of next month, you might have an Entry page for the month report and no Exit pages.That's why Entry pages can be different than Exit pages.

  • Why bucket list is not getting displayed?

  • There can be quite a few possibilities:
    • Your time/time-zone settings may be incorrect.
    • Your AWS secret key may have changed.
    • Your AWS account may have expired.
    Obviously, if you don't have any bucket in your account, it won't display any.

  • Pages: The number of "pages" logged. Only files that don't match an entry in our predefined list are counted as "Pages". Usually pages are reserved for HTML files or CGI files, not images nor other files requested as a result of loading a "Page" (like js,css... files).

  • We have given you a demo version of GeoIP database. This database contains approximate locations of the ip addresses of the visitors. Also the database is not comprehensive. In case you want complete data, please upgrade to the full version of GeoIP.

  • These are the most accessed url inclusive of pages and files.

  • Connect to Site From is a multi-part category.
  • It starts with Direct Address/Bookmark. This is the number of visitors that either know the name of your site or have it bookmarked.
  • Links from a news-group is just that.
  • Links from an Internet Search Engine gives us a listing of the number of visitors coming from a search engine.
  • Links from Other Web Pages shows what pages your visitors are coming from. This does not mean there is a link to your website on the listed page; it just registers where the visitor was coming from.
  • Links from an Internal Page is self explanatory and Unknown is just that, not known.

  • Why it is busy every time for consecutive show analytics requests?

  • In order to show you the most recent analytics, we download the logs every time you request to see the analytics. It takes a few seconds to check even if there are no new logs.

  • Why it asks to wait for few hours,once logging gets enabled for a bucket?

  • It takes time to start delivering the logs after the logging gets enabled. This sometimes takes few hours because,the completeness and timeliness of server logging is not guaranteed by amazon itself. The log record for a particular request might be delivered long after the request was actually processed, or it might not be delivered at all.

  • What does error message 'Program interrupted due to an internal error ' stand for ?

  • It means possible misconfiguration. For simple issues it can be
    • 1. perquisites not met: please make sure you install the visual c++ patch.

  • Why bucket names with period at the end gives error message "Bucket Logging Failed "?

  • As we are using virtual hosted-style buckets with SSL, the SSL wildcard certificate only matches buckets that do not contain periods, this is a known issue and will be fixed.

  • Why it tends to '503 service unavailable error for 127.0.0.1', when i try to launch application ?

  • It may be a problem with selected port number
  • ex: Some ports like 8000 are not supported in vista home edition.

  • NOTE: Generally it works perfectly after installing the visual c++ patch. If it does not work even after installing the aforesaid patch, you may need to install OpenSSL from http://www.slproweb.com/download/Win32OpenSSL-0_9_8k.exe . This is a known issue and we are working on it.
